THE AVENGERS gets 3rd biggest opening in India

Marvel Studio’s THE AVENGERS released on 27 April 2012 and had a huge opening weekend with Rs. 14cr NBOC (Highest for any non-solo Hollywood release). This success marked the coming together of UTV Motion Pictures (distributing the film) and Walt Disney Pictures with aggressive marketing and distribution strategies.
The film grew through the week and closed with an astounding one week figure of Rs. 24.67cr NBOC.
With this, THE AVENGERS is now an all-time 3rd biggest opening for any Hollywood film in India and biggest Disney-Marvel movie in India ever.
THE AVENGERS released in approximately 800 screens (biggest Hollywood release in India) in English and was dubbed in Hindi, Telegu and Tamil.
