The football lovers of Kolkata will witness another memorable fundraising match that will be played between Mithun Chakroborthy XI and Sourav Ganguly XI, as announced on Wednesday.

'Mithun Chakraborty XI' will led by Bollywood actor Mithun Chakraborty while the other side will be playing under the leadership of former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly.

The match will be played to honour legendary soccer player Gautam Sarkar. The winner of the match will lift the 'Camellia Cup'.

Former Bengal footballers and actors from the Bengali film industry Tollywood will be on the ground to play the match. Madan Mirta said, “Why Gautam Sarkar has not received the Arjuna Award yet? It is a shame. We want to investigate the reason why he did not get it and I hope in future he will get it. Moreover if any support or help is needed then government is ready to give it.”

“I will get down on the field to play the match so that in future I can say that I have played with these great footballers,” he said jokingly.

In this benefit match, Camelia Group will hand over 10 lakhs, Madam Mitra will will contributestwo lakhs and East Bengal club will give 1 lakh to Goutam Sarkar respectively.

Ex-footballer Prasun Banerjee said, “It is sad that we do not have any archive or record in footballs except few. So we can’t even tell our children and the next generation about the matches we played.”

Arup Biswas sadly lamented that the people who took Indian football to golden heights are hardly known to the people.

“Some of the names from Tollywood who will be present are actor Dev, Jeet,Soham, Parambrata, Subhoshree, Srabanti, Director Srijit, Tony and many more,” added Arup.
