Veteran comedian Ashok Saraf back on TV

Monday, June 11, 2012 6:42:48 PM (IST) | Bollywood Trade Editorial

After a long gap, veteran comedian Ashok Saraf is back to regale the audiences in a new SAB TV daily soap, based on the literature of famous Gujarati humorist Ratilal Borisagar. Ashok Saraf after the cult comedy serial Hum Paanch, had stayed away from TV, and concentrated more on Films and Theatre.

“It was the lack of good scripts and lack of time for daily serials, for which I consciously stayed away from TV,” explained Ashok when quizzed about his absence. He further added, “This literature based concept and the character, brought to me by Milind Dabke excited me, and surely my fans will love to see the serial.”

The serial is produced by Milind Dabke, who has earlier produced a few TV serials and was also associated with Percept Picture Company, and was involved in the production and distribution of various films such as TASVEER, AASHAYEIN, FIRAAQ, JANNAT, UGLY AUR PAGLI etc.  He has an association with RNA Entertainment, where he distributed PATIALA HOUSE and coproduced the Hindi film CLICK.

The serial will also feature prominent TV artiste such as Pallavi Pradhan, Sharad Vyas, Sukesh Anand, Tushar Joshi, Mehul Trivedi.  Surely the audience is looking forward to see Ashok Saraf, back on TV playing Professor Rajni, and have them in splits.
