Will Big B steal the show in RGV's DEPARTMENT?

AMITABH BACHCHAN in DEPARTMENT

Whether for good or for bad, more often than not Ram Gopal Varma has been known for putting Big B in a slot like never before. Case in point being films which are as extreme as a SARKAR or an AAG or a NISHABD. Now that DEPARTMENT is up for release, can one expect the legendary actor to steal the show all over again, despite the presence of Sanjay Dutt?

Says Ramu in a diplomatic tone, 'Well, that's hard for me to say because at the end of the day my job as a filmmaker is to tell a story and create characters. Audience decides what is important for them in the movie and what they end up liking most may not be the same for the filmmaker. I would like to believe that all my characters are important as each of them has a part to play in the film.'

He goes on to add, 'Like for example, I am personally quite fascinated by the character that Vijay Raaz plays. He is this don who is on the verge of losing his power and is struggling to come to terms with that. Then there is Rana Daggubati who would be seen as an action hero while playing a young cop. It will be a shift for him as an actor and his good personality has added to the character. And then of course there is Sanjay Dutt. So you really can't generalise that one character who would lead the show as all of them take the movie forward to make it entertaining.'

Aah Ramu, now since when did you turn so diplomatic? We would have expected a much more straight forward declaration from your, ‘Ramu ishtyle’!
